About This Workshop:

This class is suitable for beginners.

Our expert chandler will guide you through the candle making steps, familiarise you with the tools, and show you how to make candles. It will include questions and answers.

Attendees: 

Minimum of 5 and maximum of 12 people per class.

1.5 Hour Live Candle Making Workshop For Hens' Nights, Girls Days Out & Bridal Showers

We know how special your event is and what a responsibility you have been given! We are passionate about creating a unique experience for your group.

All materials and tools included.

Demonstration and assistance by your experienced teacher.

Speakers available for your own playlist. 

A glass of bubbly for each participant on arrival! You're very welcome to BYO additional bubbly and snacks too. Instructor has RSA certification.

Each participant will take home the two candles they make. Remember the unforgettable fun had each time you light them.

Each participant can choose from our phthalate free fragrance library of: watermelon, vanilla bean, salted caramel, rose, pina colada, persian lime and lemongrass, coconut lime, blueberry cheesecake and 1 million.

 

Location:

  • A live virtual experience over Zoom. Candle making kits are sent to attendees prior. Includes shipping cost.
  • We offer classes at venues in St Kilda and on Melbourne's Mornington Peninsula.

What you’ll need to provide if you choose the virtual class option:

  • A stovetop or electric cooktop to melt the wax.
  • A double boiler set up ie: A kitchen pot filled with tap water. You can then place the soy wax in another smaller container or jug within that kitchen pot to melt it.
  • An apron, a food thermometer, paper, pen, and a digital scale.

 

Safety Recommendations:

A apron will be provided to protect you at in person workshops. 

We recommend that you wear close toed shoes for safety if it doesn't ruin your outfit. A long sleeve top is also preferred to protect skin in case of splashes. Soy wax is water soluble.

 

Extras:

  • We'll provide you with a bag to transport your creations home safely if you are attending an in-person workshop. Large candles can take up to 3 hours to fully set, so we recommend that you pop a box in your car to transport it home safely. Alternatively, we can arrange to courier all candles out at a later date for an additional fee. ($10 per participant sent individually, or quoted if sent all together.)
  • If any of the guests would like to make an additional large candle this can be arranged for an additional $40 on arrival. 
  • You can book online. A $250.00 deposit is required to secure your event with the remainder due two weeks prior to your booking date.

Kits:

A soy candle making kit will be mailed in time for the class. Shipping is included. The recipient will need to book at least 72 hours prior to class time if they live in Melbourne, and up to a week if they live in other states, to ensure they receive the kit in time. We ship Australia wide. They will need to advise us of their shipping address at the time of booking in.

A fun and educational workshop for the kids' school holidays!

Program Duration:

2.5 hours.

Class session times:

10am-12.30pm soy candle making is the morning activity.

Location:

Each kids’ holiday workshop is a drop-off program in Mornington or Seaford on the Mornington Peninsula.  

Program Details:

  • There will be a minimum of ten and maximum of 25 children per program.
  • The program is designed for children aged 7 – 16 years old.
  • We break to play games, win prizes, and have fun.
  • The kids will make 3 creations to take home.
  • Educators: All staff have a current working with children check.

Safety:

  • Kids should wear close toed shoes and a long sleeve top while candle making. The children will also be supplied with aprons, and with goggles when pouring the candles.
  • We only use pure soy wax which dissolves easily in warm water and has a very low melting point.
  • Our fragrances are phthalate free.
  • We will be melting the wax in a separate area, and kids will be supervised when pouring their candles.

Curriculum:

  • The different types of wax used to make candles and the benefits of soy wax over other waxes.
  • Candle wicks - how wicks sizes work and how to correctly wick a candle.

  • Your child will choose 3 different fragrances and 3 candle containers.

Food:

    • We serve popcorn, fruit, corn chips and water during the candle making program break.
    • If your child has allergies, or doesn't like the food options, you can supply your own nut free snacks. Please alert us to any allergies in writing at info@blazeandfoam.com.au Please also alert our facilitators on the day at drop off. Children who have an anaphylactic allergy must bring an EpiPen. Children who don’t have an EpiPen, won’t be able to stay.

    A Full Day Workshop is also available: We run a melt and pour soap making activity in the afternoon 1.30am-4.00pm. Book the soap making program on its own here, or complete both the morning and the afternoon program for $95 for the day. 

    During the one-hour break between the candle making and soap making programs, children are fully supervised by our experienced staff. They can eat their own home packed lunch and participate in down-time activities such as drawing, puzzles and crafts. If your child is staying for the full day, please pack them a nut free lunch to eat during the supervised one hour lunch break between programs.

    • via Zoom. Candle making kits will be sent directly to the company headquarters for distribution (shipping cost included). Alternatively we can ship each kit individually to each participant's home office address - shipping is an additional $15 per participant.
    • At your own corporate venue in Melbourne.
    • We can also source a venue on Melbourne's Mornington Peninsula on request. Additional venue fees may apply. 

     

    Workshop Details:

    • By the end of the class, each participant will have made two scented soy container candles.

    Cost:

    • Book online via the deposit option. The cost is $90 ex gst per participant (for 15 people). For 16 -30 people the cost is $85 ex gst per participant. For 31 + people, the cost is $80 per person. The booking system will automatically apply this discount and can be seen at checkout.

    • A $650.00 deposit will secure your booking, with the remainder due three weeks prior to your booking date. GST is added at checkout.

       

      Extras:

    • We can arrange to supply branded aprons with your logo, mugs or T-shirts for the event - for an additional quoted fee. The cover of our Candle Makers Journal can also be branded for your event as a take home gift for participants. Please give us three weeks prior to your event to arrange this.
    • For in person workshops, will provide a box for each participant to transport their creations home in. Please note that large candles can take up to 3 hours to fully set. Alternatively, we can arrange to send all candles out in bulk at a later date for an additional courier fee. - to be quoted, or individually to each participant's address. 

     

    Safety:

    We recommend that that participants wear close toed shoes and no heels for safety.

    A long sleeve top is also recommended to ensure skin is protected in case of splashes. Soy wax is water soluble.

    We will build the class curriculum around your personal needs and level of experience.

     

    Pre-requisites:

    This class is perfect for beginners or for those more experienced, wanting to extend their craft. We will give you the knowledge and confidence to get going. Perhaps you want to start a new hobby or begin a new business. Maybe you want to troubleshoot some areas of your current craft or established practice.

    Class Duration:

    2 hours with minimal breaks.

    Time:

    Location:
